On March 15, 1996 Jimmy and Carey Fagan opened Irelands Four Courts in Arlington, Virginia. Jimmy, originally from Mullingar, has numerous years of restaurant experience in both Ireland and Washington DC. The philosophy behind the Four Courts was to create a great local neighborhood bar, with the warmth and inviting atmosphere that he was accustomed to in Ireland. With the same philosophy in mind, Jimmy and Carey decided to open a new pub in Baltimore, Maryland. The James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant opened its doors for the first time on November 23rd, 2002, and has fast become a neighborhood hangout as well as a refuge for guests in several local hotels. The James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant is a brand new operation. Its name is derived from the Irish novelist, short-story writer and poet, James Joyce. Joyce is regarded as one of the greatest, most innovative literary talents of the twentieth century. |
